Dr. Iram Amin has completed her M.Sc Biochemistry form University of the Punjab, MS Biotechnology from Lahore College for Women University, Lahore and Ph.D Molecular Biology and Forensic Sciences from University of the Punjab, Lahore. Dr. Iram Amin has joined CEMB, Virology Group in 2007 as Research Officer cum Lecturer. Dr. Iram Amin has worked on many different projects and studies on viruses like Hepatitis B, C, D and Dengue Virus and currently working on HIV and HCC projects. The major Research interest of her are studies of different Viruses and their epidemiology, Host-Virus interaction, Genome wide studies, Molecular Diagnostic, and Assay development for virus detection and its Genotyping. During her Ph.D. She has also been selected for International Research Support Program (IRSIP) by HEC-Pakistan in year 2019 for training in CDC-USA. After Ph.D, in 2024, she has been awarded Prestigious Charles Wallace visiting fellowship supported by British Council for training in Queen Mary University of London, UK and in 2025, a fully funded Post doctoral fellowship supported by Higher education Commission (HEC)-Pakistan for Wuhan University China. She has published many research articles in National and International, peer reviewed journals with an Impact factor of more than 100. She has won the Research Publication Incentive Awards from 2016 to 2020 and also a performance evaluation award in year 2017 from University of the Punjab. She has been granted research grants as Principal Investigator(PI) from University of the Punjab in 2024 and 2025 and from National Institute of Health(NIH), Islamabad as Co-PI in 2022. |
